We'll go into each step of the offer process in more detail in future lessons, but here's a high-level overview so you can set expectations with sellers.
1. Request a free offer, no prep work or showings
It only takes 5-10 minutes to fill out a questionnaire about the home (see video). The seller doesn't have to do any prep work, staging, open houses, or showings.
2. Get a competitive cash offer within 24 hours
Opendoor will make a competitive cash offer on eligible homes within 24 hours. Many sales associates help their sellers compare the tradeoffs of selling to Opendoor vs listing on the open market. The offer is valid for 5 days.
Note: Offer eligibility varies. Learn how to qualify customers.
Opendoor may bring specialists to evaluate the home’s plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, and foundation and roof. If repairs are needed, we’ll ask for a credit and deduct the costs. Your seller gets to skip all the work of managing repairs.
4. Choose a flexible close date
Pick any close date between 14 and 60 days out, or 9 months out if the seller is working with a homebuilder partner. If the seller decides it’s not the right fit, they can cancel the sale at any point prior to closing with no cost or penalty.
